UW Distance Learning MBA Program Listed as Best Buy |

April 25, 2008 -- The University of Wyoming College of Business' distance learning M.B.A. program is rated among the nation's best buys by a respected national Web-based clearinghouse dedicated exclusively to showcasing accredited online degrees.
UW's online M.B.A. (master of business administration) program is rated No. 18 in GetEducated.com's (www.geteducated.com) "Top 30 Ranked Best Buys-Online M.B.A.-AACSB" programs. The Web-based business is located in Essex Junction, Vt.
A "best buy" designation indicates that a program has been reviewed and judged to offer a high-quality distance M.B.A. to a national audience at tuition rates well below the national average. The rankings are based upon tuition costs at AACSB (Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited, distance-learning and online M.B.A. degree programs.
GetEducated.com's national editorial review team cited UW's distance learning M.B.A. program for its lower than the national average cost of $17,700 per year. The national tuition average for an AACSB-accredited distance M.B.A. is $32,200. Every school on GetEducated.com's Top 30 list costs $25,000 or less per year.
"The UW program is slightly less than $18,000 and $18,000-$19,000 may sound like a lot of money," says Vicky Phillips, chief education analyst, GetEducated.com. founder. "But in truth, an AACSB-accredited M.B.A. that costs $18,000 is about $14,000 less than the national average. Consumers need to know that a quality M.B.A. need not cost an arm and a leg."
The UW College of Business' Executive M.B.A. Program offers the completely online class beginning each fall semester. The program consists of 30 semester hours of graduate coursework. The program is designed to improve students' capabilities for careers as professional managers and business leaders, according to Brent Hathaway, the college's dean.
"We are proud of the value associated with our online M.B.A. program. Our desire is to provide a world-class business education at an affordable price to all our students -- those online and those on campus," Hathaway says. "The online M.B.A. program is just one of many success stories at UW's College of Business."
Online since 1989, GetEducated.com's national distance learning degree rankings help consumers "get educated" about the best online colleges and universities, Phillips says. The Web site is the only distance learning college directory that offers free listings to Council for Higher Education Accreditation-accredited universities, and bars advertising from fake universities and online diploma mills.
"We are the safest place in cyberspace to shop for an online degree," Phillips adds. "Our mission is help consumers get educated about what it takes to succeed in online learning." Posted on Friday, April 25, 2008
