Accounting Minor


Accounting isn't just about dollars and cents or debits and credits anymore. Accounting includes the whole range of business information management. A minor in Accounting will give you the tools you need to understand basic accounting information - a set of skills that will be useful to you no matter what career you choose.

Minimum Grade of C required for each course

For a minor in Accounting, you must take the following courses:

Accounting 1010

Principles of Accounting I
3 credit hours

Accounting 1020
Principles of Accounting II 
3 credit hours

Accounting 2230
Intermediate Accounting I
3 credit hours

Accounting 2240

Cost Accounting I
3 credit hours

You will also choose two (2) courses from the following:

Tax Accounting I
3 credit hours

Accounting 3430
Intermediate Accounting II
3 credit hours

Accounting 3610
Accounting Information Systems I
3 credit hours

Accounting 3830  
Intermediate Accounting III
3 credit hours

Accounting 4075

Tax Planning
3 credit hours

Accounting 4540

Cost Accounting II
3 credit hours

TOTAL CREDIT HOURS = 18
