About the College of Business

The College of Business was founded in 1899 as the University of Wyoming School of Commerce and Industry. While the programs offered have changed over the years, the college remains firmly committed to a tradition of excellence. This includes our dedication to excellence in teaching, internationally recognized intellectual contributions, integration of teaching with scholarship, and service that has tangible impacts on the state and professional community.

The College of Business is home to over 1,300 students, including undergraduates and graduate students.

The college has three academic departments: Accounting; Economics and Finance; and Management and Marketing. The college also houses the Student Internship Program and Online Programs Office, which are instrumental in maintaining the college's link with the business world.

The college has majors in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing. We also offer minors in all of these areas, as well as in Banking and Financial Services, Decision Science, Entrepreneurship, International Business and Marketing Communications.

The college offers Master's degrees in Accounting, Economics, Finance, and an M.B.A., as well as a Ph.D. in Economics.
